Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China Approves Establishment of Representative Offices for Two Foreign Law Firms

BEIJING – In a landmark move, China has officially revised its Arbitration Law, a development that is expected to reshape the country’s dispute resolution landscape and redefine opportunities for international law firms. The amendments, adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, will take effect on March 1, 2026.

In accordance with the provisions of the “Administrative Regulations on Representative Offices of Foreign Law Firms in China,” following review and approval, the following foreign law firms are hereby permitted to establish representative offices in China:

  1. JAEYU LAWFIRM HAIKOU REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE (KOREA) The law firm managed by LexChina has successfully established its presence in Haikou, marking a significant expansion of Korean legal services in China’s southern region.

  1. KUBAS, KOS, GALKOWSKI-ADWOKACI SPOLKA KOMANDYTOWA SHENZHEN REPRESENTATIVE OFFICE (POLAND) LexChina introduces the first Eastern European law firm in China, attracting widespread local media coverage for this groundbreaking establishment in Shenzhen’s dynamic business environment.
